JOHN LEWS – WALLPAPER
The brief, painted woodland forest elements are illustrated in a whimsical style to be used as a repeating pattern for a nursery or child’s bedroom.

I started with initial sketching of forest elements that were approved and ready for painting. A colour palette was chosen and I could start experimenting with styles, mood boards were provided and we referenced vintage book illustrations to give a timeless feel to the illustrations.

SKETCHBOOK IDEAS (below)

Initially working in a sketchbook to get the first ideas over to the client and experiment with the colour palette provided, creating washes of colour we could pull from later.

Provides a clear conversation with my client on what has been worked on and what needs feedback and more time on. Setting out clear deadlines for both sides.
